On Wednesday, both the STOXX 50 and STOXX 600 indices remained relatively unchanged, reflecting the global market's cautious sentiment as traders refrained from significant actions ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy announcement scheduled for later that day. While a further interest rate reduction is widely anticipated, the primary focus is on the Fed’s long-term projections, extending to 2026. Additionally, investors were assessing a range of corporate updates. Notably, Aegon saw its shares plummet nearly 8%, marking it as one of the weakest performers in the STOXX 600, following its announcement to relocate its headquarters to the United States and rebrand under its largest subsidiary, Transamerica. Vinci and Rheinmetall also struggled, with declines of 2.4% and 1.7%, respectively. Contrarily, Siemens Energy rose by 4.4%, buoyed by a positive revenue forecast from its US counterpart, GE Vernova. Meanwhile, Ocado continued its recent upward trajectory, gaining an additional 4%. ASML Holding and HSBC also experienced respectable growth, with increases of 1.1% and 1.7%, respectively.
