Microsoft keeps pace with other tech giants: quarterly report released

Microsoft's report for January-March of this year, released on Tuesday, April 27th, gives a sense of deja vu. Strong financial indicators, confirmation of forecast expectations, and exceeding them - this has already been observed on the example of Intel, Apple, and some other representatives of the hi-tech sector, which released their quarterly reports quite recently.

Microsoft reported revenue of $41.7 billion, net income of $15.5 billion, and adjusted earnings per share of $1.95. All these indicators are significantly higher than in the corresponding quarter of last year. The growth was particularly affected by sales in such segments as Xbox, Azure, Surface, Windows OEM, Productivity and Business Processes, More Personal Computing, Dynamics 365.

As for the Microsoft shares, the following observations can be made: First, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, stocks almost doubled and traded above the market. Second, at the moment, there is a risk of some of their overestimation. Third, the strong report led to a certain decline in the value of the shares. The corresponding processes for major industry competitors are almost identical.

A more general conclusion can be drawn: Microsoft Corporation, like all high-tech in general, is now rapidly developing. A capitalization of almost $2 trillion speaks for itself. Of course, Microsoft shares are of certain investment interest, and it is worth waiting out the correction and not putting all the eggs in one basket.
